Sad But True was released as the last single from Metallica, released in an US version and an double internationally version. The US version contained the title track and a cover of Anti-Nowhere League's song "So What". The international version has two tracklists. The first contained the same songs of the US version and a live version of "Harvester of Sorrow", while the second contained the title track, the demo version of it, "Nothing Else Matters" on its "Elevator version" (played only with an acoustic guitar, James' vocal and the orchestral arrangement) and a live version of "Creeping Death". The 7" vinyl released internationally contained the title track, a live version of it and a live version of "Nothing Else Matters".
