Electric Catfish are the source of Thunder Tower's electricity in Mother 3. Pigmasks have to scare them to make these chimeras sent from the Chimera Lab generate the electricity in their tanks, but after a while the Electric Catfish become used to the scare tactics and fail to be surprised anymore. When Lucas and co. are in the Thunder Tower, a Pigmask Captain will tell them that the power output of the three in the tank is just a little over 10 kilozaps per hour, which is drastically less than before they harder to surprise. Their fate after the destruction of Thunder Tower is unknown.
