The School Defense Act of 2013 (Coded: 3-1; also called the SD Act) is a Southwest Republic legislative piece introduced by Barbara Boxer (L-SC) on January 12, 2013, in response to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting on December 14, 2012. The shooting prompted renewed debate about gun control across the former United States, including the Southwest Republic.
