Teracaq was the key component of roast teracaq, a dish eaten by Zobral's species. After dining with Zobral in February 2152, Charles Tucker III commented, "I just ate a half a teracaq." (ENT: "Desert Crossing") In the final version of "Desert Crossing", it isn't confirmed whether teracaq is a type of meat or not, simply that it is an ingredient. In the final draft script of "Desert Crossing", however, teracaq was firmly established as an animal; another dish – called "blood soup" in the installment, and said to contain "the essence of the male" – was referred to instead as "blood of teracaq".
