The Hohner Pianet is an electromechanical keyboard instrument whose sounds are generated by means of metal reeds which are plucked and damped by sticky pads attached to the distal ends of pivoting key-shafts. The instruments were produced between 1963 and the early 1980s. There was a radical change in the mechanism and electronics during the mid-1970s, resulting in a change of sound which made the later instruments less popular among musicians.
