In 1900 PD, Braun held the rank of Chief Petty Officer and served as quartermaster of the light cruiser HMS Fearless. He noted the change of command for Commander Honor Harrington, and was later killed in the First Battle of Basilisk, when his body was slammed into a bulkhead. (HH1, OBS)
