Eveline Mary Lowe (née Farran) (29 November 1869 - 30 May 1956) was a teacher and Labour Party politician. Born in Bermondsey, she was the daughter of the Reverend John Farren, a Congregational Minister. Following training as a teacher at Homerton College, she subsequently a lecturer at the college and eventually vice-principal in 1894. In 1903 she married Dr. George Carter Lowe, retiring from her job at Cambridge. In 1939 she became first female Chairman of the London County Council. She was created a freeman of the Metropolitan Borough of Bermondsey.
