The 1961 Wilkes 200 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at North Wilkesboro Speedway on October 1, 1961. Rex White dominated the event, leading 201 of the 320 laps in route to a one-lap victory on Fireball Roberts. Eventual season champ Ned Jarrett finished 5th.
