Captain John Patrick Mason is the secondary protagonist of the Michael Bay movie The Rock. He is a former MI6 agent and SAS soldier who was imprisoned on Alcatraz years ago. He was later sent to Alcatraz to help Stanley Goodspeed to defeat the Marines, rescue the hostages, and diffuse the missiles. He is portrayed by Sean Connery.
