Eddie was a corpsman during the Second Great War. He was bespectacled. He worked closely with Leonard O'Doull throughout the war, helping tend to the wounded and the dying. He also performed mundane tasks like delivering the mail to the doctors and taking down and setting up the aid station tents when they moved forward and back with the front. In 1944, he carried a wounded Michael Pound to O'Doull when Pound's legs and hands were burned as he escaped from his destroyed barrel.
