The origin of wereleopards is unknown, but it is a hereditary species. The genes for becoming a wereleopard are stronger than those for becoming a werewolf, as shown in the case of India Firelock-Reddan-Morrel whose biological mother will be a wereleopard but whose father will be a werewolf. It is unknown if being a wereleopard would be inherited if one parent was vampiric, or was human.
