Centuries after the events of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, Hyrule has been flooded by a vast sea called the Great Sea. The residents live on islands dotted on the sea. Link, a younger farmer on Outset Island was on the beach with his sister, Aryll, when Aryll was then kidnapped by beings. Link is actually a descendent from the Hero of Time, who is the Link from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, according to his grandmother. Link meets a young female pirate called Tetra who wants to help Link find Aryll.
