Battle for Supremacy was a wrestling event promoted by Ring of Honor. It took place on June 27, 2008 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Dayton, Ohio. At Respect is Earned II, Adam Pearce revealed what was in the briefcase that was given to him by Larry Sweeney: the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Pearce won the title in October 2007, but was never recognized by ROH. After Sweeney forced the NWA World Heavyweight Championship into ROH, ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness challenged him to a Title-vs-Title match.
