Sterba's Corydoras (Corydoras sterbai) is a small species of corydoras catfish endemic to South America. It has white on black spots all over its body, with pale yellow fins. Due to its attractive appearance, it is a popular fish for home aquariums. It is a shoaling catfish, and feeds on leftover material that is found on and in the sediment where it lives, whether it be in the wild or in the home aquarium. The species name of this Corydoras is in honour of Professor Dr. Günther Sterba, professor emeritus of zoology of Leipzig University, member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
