Black was a writer who had also written episodes of Lawman, The Untouchables, Mr. Novak, Laredo, The F.B.I., Room 222, Hawaii Five-O, The Streets of San Francisco, and Charlie's Angels. He had also written the movies The Unearthly, Gunfight in Abilene, Nobody's Perfect, Shaft, and Trouble Man.
