Baron battle droids were battle droids used by the Trade Federation. They were similar to B1 battle droids, but the name "baron" hints at the same line as the E4 baron droid. Baron battle droids were armed with only two light missile launchers attached to their backs. They had dark orange markings and were very similar to the earlier anti-air battle droid, which had only one missile launcher. They were used specifically for targeting and shooting down Republic LAAT ships during the Clone Wars. These were cheaper in cost and slower than the normal B1 battle droids.
