Linus Simonson, Jr. (d. Oct 2002) was the son of Linus Simonson, a former employee of BankLA in Los Angeles, California, and later one of four owners of a string of night clubs in Hollywood. He attended Beverly Hills High School with James Oliphant, Bernard Banks, and Jimmy Fazio. He later worked for BankLA as an assistant to Vice President Gordon Scaggs. In May of 1999, he and another bank employee were enlisted to record the serial numbers of 800 one-hundred bills from a shipment of two-million dollars in cash that was to be loaned to a movie set. He devised a plan to steal the money which included altering the list of serial numbers so the cash could not be traced.
