The Rogue-class Armed Transport was designed by the Esran Croft Enterprises core of engineers to provide a means for civilian convoys to protect themselves from pirates and greater threats. However, the ship found great favor with test pilot and renowned alliance squadron leader, Colonel Sapes. The colonel quickly put through orders for his squadron to receive the first twelve of these vessels and the additional crew to man each vessel.
