When it was confirmed that there would be an Australian Grand Prix for the 1985 Formula One Season, Nine Network announced it would begin to broadcast all Formula One races in full for the first time within Australia. Prior to 1985 few races were shown on television and were usually only brief highlights of Formula One races and rarely the full coverage. The trio would lead the Nine Network coverage until 2002 when Nine Network lost the F1 broadcasting rights to Network TEN.
