This Old Woman was a servant of the gods in Sumeria. Hercules encountered her when he was journeying to Dumuzi's Temple in an attempt to resurrect Iolaus from the dead. She offered Hercules a place by her fire and some food and she told him he was at the beginning of a quest. Later, Hercules recounted the story to Agenor who said that the Old Woman was sent by the gods to visit the damned.
