Daidoji Akane was an attractive yojimbo of the Crane Clan. She was appointed as yojimbo to Doji Noburo, a Crane ambassador in the Imperial Court, time after the courtier had lost his wife. The two fell in love with each other, even though she was some 25 years his junior. They eventually married during the Four Winds era, and she laid down her sword to be with her husband when Noburo was appointed as sensei of th Doji Academy.
