Leroy "Chick" Blades (d. 1941) was a guard at Camp Dependable. After participating in the mass-murder of several groups of Negro prisoners, Blades, overwhelmed by the horror of his actions, committed suicide by parking his car in his closed garage and leaving the engine running. He left a widow, Edith, and two sons, Frank and Willie.
