The Recon Task Force was the Shadow Imperium's, and later Crimson Empire's, frontline scouting unit. It was charged with several mission types, including search and destroy, reconnassaince, and diplomatic relations. The task force consisted of a small, five-ship formation, in order to keep serious attention away from its mission profile and its origins.
