The 117th Squadron was deployed on Geonosis at the start of the Clone Wars. They flew LAATs and dispatched small squads of the 117th clone troopers onto the surface of Geonosis. These squads patrolled around the Petranaki arena. While patrolling, they heard the sound of a Lightsaber. They went to inspect and found Jedi Master Ken-ma Po-co fighting off Super Battle Droids. They ran in and helped Ken-ma defeat the droids. Worn out from the battle, Ken-ma collapsed onto the ground. A squad of the 117th carried him to a LAAT. After Ken-ma regained consciousness, the battle was already over, begun the Clone Wars had. The 117th traveled back to Coruscant and Ken-ma went back to the Jedi Temple.
