Naboo Queen Padmé Amidala was held prisoner by the Tusken Raiders after they had somehow captured her when she landed in close proximity. Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn, alongside an Ewok mercenary named Simon, staged a rescue of Amidala, successfully doing so before she was beaten to death by her captors. While escorting the Queen back to the J-type 327 Nubian royal starship, also killing the bounty hunter Aurra Sing when she attempted to stop them, the trio ended up ambushed by Darth Maul, but they successfully vanquished him.
