Inspector Jonathan "Snoopy" Beegle was a British government official aboard the Toronto. He was selected to accompany Tom Driscoll during his land on the Nugget. He was killed when the COM console exploded, during the over-c jump. His demise caused Rainer Hofstedt, his student, to get in his place for the flight.
