The 1952-28 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at Dayton Speedway on September 21, 1952. Fonty Flock had the event on his finger, but a broken gas tank while leading killed his chances. Instead, Dick Rathmann led the last 37 laps and held off Lee Petty by five seconds for his fifth and final win of the year. Stats
