Gonsalves held the rank of Captain in the Alto Verdan Navy, and was taken prisoner when the People's Navy invaded her system. Like many enemy officers, she was sent to the prison planet Hades in the Cerberus System. She was a member of the tribunal established by Commodore Honor Harrington to try captured StateSec personnel. (HH8) She commanded the first transports to leave Hades, but they arrived in the Trevor's Star System only after Commodore Harrington's contingent because they were slower. She later joined the GSN and was promoted to Commodore in the Protector's Own Squadron. (HH9)
