The Judge Advocate General Corps, or JAG, was the legal branch or speciality of any of the Star Kingdom of Manticore's armed forces, including the Royal Manticoran Navy, Army and Marine Corps. The JAG Corps, led by a flag officer holding the position of Judge Advocate General, was responsible for conducting legal investigations and organizing court-martials according to the Manual for Courts-Martial and the Articles of War. Captain Ortiz was an officer working for the JAG Corps. In 1905 PD, she served as the prosecutor in the court-martial of Captain Lord Pavel Young. (HH4)
