Ice barges were self-contained repulsorcraft used to traverse snow-covered terrain. They were used by the Chiss to travel across the inhospitable wastes of Csilla, between cities. The Tolos of Toloran also had an ice barge named the Snow Nara which was used for tourist purposes.
