Disappointed that he could no longer terrorize the Emerald Hill Zone (since its residents had been secretly transported to the Floating Island), Robotnik unleashed the Mekanik on the Stone Tower Zone. Its armour proved to be impervious both to Sonic's Spin Attack and to Shortfuse the Cybernik's laser blasts (although Amy Rose did manage to get its attention by firing an arrow in between its armour). It was strong and fast enough to catch Sonic in its hand, and its fire-breath could even knock Shortfuse out of the sky.
