Halfaway Island was an uninhabited island situated across from Mura Sabishii Toshi. It was devoid of man-made struc­tures, except for an abandoned lighthouse that sat high on the cliffs. It was said a young woman threw herself from the lighthouse when she saw her lover's ship crash on the shores, and some even claimed to see her ghost on stormy nights.
