Here follows the account of the Year of Dark Feathers, in the year in which an Empire fell, the Kahar rule ended, and the Zahir rule began. It was a year in which Serath Kahar, the errant Prince of Fastheld, and the ranger Vhramis Wolfsbane, defended the holdfast of Crown's Refuge against a Dark Wildling attack that would have consumed it. A defense prior to, and during, the arrival of an expedition from Fastheld that helped hold the walls.
