[Source] Harmonic dampeners were a spinning component used in the construction of podracers. During the 432nd edition of the Lolo Chochee's Speedester Challenge race on the planet Malastare, the harmonic dampener in the pod of Blarina podracer Naka Iit spun out of harmony, which led to a pileup that reversed the order of race and wrecked Iit's vehicle. The Resistance pilot Poe Dameron learned of Iit's problematic dampener when he researched the Blarina's past after meeting him in 34 ABY, and included information on it in his flight log.
