Brian van Hermanus (born August 17, 1958) is an Dutch-born American photographer, living in Los Angeles, California. Hermanus was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands to Dutch–Jewish parents. He and his parents moved to the US in 1962 when Hermanus was only 4. Hermanus had always watched photography and photographers such as Eve Arnold, Richard Avedon, Elliot Erwitt, and Robert Frank.
