Upsilon Aquarii was a class F4IV white star located within or near the space claimed by the Federation government in the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant. The star was located in proximity to 53 Aquarii and Rasalhague. Upsilon Aquarii was known to Humans as being visible from Earth in the Aquarius constellation, about 74 light-years distant.
