The Betan Expeditionary Force was a temporary military force of Beta Colony created out of the Betan Astronomical Survey to help Escobar fight off an invasion from the Barrayaran Imperium. Captain Cordelia Naismith served in the Expeditionary Force, successfully distracting six Barrayaran wormhole picket ships so that Betan freighters could run the blockade over Escobar and deliver plasma mirrors to the Escobarans. The Expeditionary Force uniform was sky blue, with jackboots. It was only delivered after the war was actually over.
