AIK Hockey (Allmänna Idrottsklubben, "the General Sports Club"; usually referred to as only AIK) is a professional team based in Stockholm , Sweden, and playing in the Elitserien . The team was founded in 1921 and has spent 66 seasons in the Elitserien, winning the title seven times (1934, 1935, 1938, 1946, 1947, 1982, 1984) and being runner-up six other times (1930, 1936, 1940, 1968, 1978, 1981) before being relegated to the Allsvenskan in 2001. However, they are now playing in Elitserien since they managed to advance there after season 09/10.
