A NASA commander, and the third person to set foot on Mars during the first and only NASA expedition there. Later captained the Second Chance during the Starflyer War, and rose to be admiral in the Commonwealth Navy. He rose to become Supreme Commander of the Navy, but was relieved from his post after the opening events of the Starflyer War, when 23 planets were lost to the enemy. However he later regained his post another four times before "migrating inwards", i.e. downloading himself into ANA.
