In 2263 – three years into a five-year mission the starship was undertaking – the archive vault aboard the Enterprise housed a piece of the Abronath, placed there after it was refused as a diplomatic offering to the Teenaxi by the Fibonan High Council. Using his remote connection to the Federation database and Starfleet logs through a Magellan probe, Krall was able to detect the Abronath aboard the Enterprise. This discovery by Krall initiated his attack on the Federation from the planet Altamid, beginning with the destruction of the Enterprise and the recovery of the Abronath. (Star Trek Beyond)
