Psilocybe mexicana were hallucinogenic mushrooms known to the Aztecs as teonanacatl or "the flesh of the gods". They contained 4-Phosphoryloxy-NN-dimethyltryptamine. They were fawn coloured with a long thin stem. They were easily available in Tenochtitlan, Mexico in 1487. The Seventh Doctor consumed the mushrooms in an attempt to see the Blue.
