John Shanks was the producer of Ashlee Simpson's 2004 album Autobiography. He also co-wrote all but two of the album's songs with Simpson (the exceptions being "Unreachable" and "Giving It All Away"), and Simpson and Shanks co-wrote some of the songs with Kara DioGuardi as well. Shanks won a Grammy in February 2005 for "Producer of the Year, Non-Classical", in part for his work as producer on Autobiography. [1]
