The Verminator is a job, and a role, which comes out of Kelly's time working in TV World ("The Goodbye Girl)". Kelly was demoted for her failure to keep customers, i.e. Bud and the D'Arcys, happy, and given a part in a reenactment as a sort of superheroine of the insect-killing world, the Verminator. This led to a further gig as the model, or rather victim, for a series of Pest Boys Exterminators commercials, presented by Billy Ray Welnap ("Scared Single").
