The Nemesis-class Super Star Destroyer is designed as a scaled down Executor-class vessel. Since the Nemesis-class is much smaller than other Super Star Destroyers, it is faster and easier to produce, at only a fraction of the cost. The Nemesis-class also differs from traditional Imperial design for such a large ship in that it has a significant starfighter defense as part of its primary armament. Also, seemingly taking a cue from the New Republic’s Mon Cal ships, the Super Star Destroyer is equipped with a backup shield generator.
