The Scarab Mark III Assassin Droid, also known as a Sleeper Droid, is a response by Sienar Intelligence Systems to New Republic laws forbidding official use of assassin droids to hunt down criminals. It was introduced to much fanfare and early success, being used by bounty hunters and the Republic's army to capture outlaws and fugitives legally and safely. Criminals have been known to modify the droid with a more lethal payload.
