Nation Song Contest 56 will be the 56th edition of the Nation Song Contest. The contest will be hosted in Viola Per Sempre, who was joint 4th in the previous contest. This is because the Top 4 of the previous edition will all be on a national holiday at some point during this edition, letting the hosting job fall to VPS. This will be the first edition since NSC 41 that the previous edition's winner is ineligible to regain their title, as then, Zaprya was once again unable to participate. Roseland and Orangualia will make their debut. This edition was the first ever instance of a tied winner, with both Pigeon Island and Horehronieland gaining 136 points. Pigeon Island won the tie-break and therefore gained their first NSC title.
