The Australian Customs Service was the organisation tasked with screening at entry points in australia, collecting duties and taxes. It existed between 1985 and 2009 when the ACS was reorganised as the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service which 6 years later became the nucleus of the Australian Border Force.
