Servant of Morag (second in command), Maugrim unleashed the Wailing Death upon Neverwinter and, being one of Morag's elites, plays a large role in the masterminding of the attack on Neverwinter. The main character defeats him in Neverwinter Nights shortly after he performs a ritual to bring his mistress Morag out of her magical stasis. This results in his banishment to Cania. The hero of the expansion campaigns has to kill him in Hordes of the Underdark when Maugrim is encountered as one of Grimgnaw's followers during Grimgnaw's attempt at conquering that realm.
