those shadows were just the shadows of some of the residents of skypiea showing on the clouds in front of the Straw Hats. Because Skypiea is so high up, any shadows they cast that make their way down to the Blue Sea's clouds appear gigantic. This is alluded to when Luffy defeats Eneru. A giant shadow of Luffy striking a victory pose is shown on the clouds.
