The Independent States of the Kafuri Peninsula is a term that applies to the period that followed the collapse of the New Republic of Kafuristan. During this time the Kafuri Peninsula was divided between three independent states, two of which saw themselves as the "legitimate Kafuristan." In the south and east is the Ahazi Republic, composed largely of New Republic loyalists, liberals, and Hosians. In the north and west is the Abadi Republic of North Kafuristan, dominated by Ba'athists and religious fundamentalists. These are the two states claiming succession to Kafuristan.
